Pedro Lacerda (PhD, Leiden University, 2005) is researcher in solar system astrophysics since 2000, and currently also ESA technology broker at IPN. Author and co-author of over 250 scientific publications and oral presentations. Newton Fellow of the Royal Society in 2008-2011. Coordinating researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Solar System Research (2013-2016), where he supervised two PhD students. Lecturer at Queen's University Belfast (2016-2019), where he was nominated for most inspiring (2018) and innovative (2019) lecturer. Co-recipient of the Royal Society APEX award (2017) for interdisciplinary project in medieval literature and comets. Science panel evaluator for NASA since 2010. Public lectures at Ciência Viva on the solar system and the study of comets. Member of the science working group for the ESA Comet Interceptor mission.
