The Portugal Space inaugurated its headquarters on November 7th in Vila do Porto, on the island of Santa Maria, Azores.
This event, a highlight of the organization’s 5th-anniversary celebrations, reaffirms the Agency’s commitment to the Azores region. “From the beginning, the Agency has recognized the geographic potential of the Azores for developing a space ecosystem. With this Atlantic centrality, Portugal has an open door to a prosperous future in Space,” stated Ricardo Conde, President of the Portuguese Space Agency.
With great enthusiasm and pride, ESA Space Solutions Portugal was also present to celebrate this important milestone. The inauguration was attended by the President of Portugal, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, as well as the Presidents of the Azorean Regional Legislative Assembly and Government, Luís Garcia and José Manuel Bolieiro, and the Secretary of State for Science, Ana Paiva.
